A look into the past and present

Come visit the beautiful and ancient churches of Tigray. There are over 120 churches, some dating back to the 4th century, and most are still actively used today. Some churches are hidden away on top of the rocky plateau mountains, while others are tucked away at the base of rock outcroppings on the ground. There are options for both the avid climber and those who like to travel at more leisuarly pace.  

Eco-Trekking

Eco-trekking provides a great opportunity to explore the area more intimately. By trekking it is possible to visit villages not accessible by car and immerse yourself in the culture more. All equipment for trekking, such as sleeping mats and tens can be rented. Axum

The kingdom of the queen of sheeba

Axum (or Aksum) is the seat of the former Aksumite Kingdom, ruled over by the legendary Queen of Sheba. Axum is an important city in Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity and home to the chapel where Orthodox Christians believes houses the famous Arc of the Covenant, brought to Ethiopia by the son of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon, Menelik I. 

Mekelle

Explore ethiopia's second largest city
